Online counseling in SC

All of South Carolina

I was born in Sumter. Vacationed in Charleston. Worked in Spartanburg. And live in Greenville. No matter where you are in South Carolina, you can have online anxiety counseling!

“I’ve never done online counseling before. How do I get started?”

First of all, yay for you! Excited you’re here. I get it! I’m in therapy (yup. Therapists go to therapy!). When I scheduled my first appointment with my therapist, my palms were sweating. Sooooo yeah! It’s totally normal to be a little nervous!

So…first step to starting online counseling - deep breath.

Second step, schedule a 15 minute phone call. You pick a day and time that works best for you, and I”ll send you a form to get a quick 411. We’ll chat in the virtual therapy room to get a feel for online counseling and me.

That call is just to see if we’d be a good fit. If we are, awesome. If we’re not, that’s ok too! I’ll help you find the right fit. Starting this process is hard, and you will move on to step 3 whether it’s therapy with me or someone else. Promise.

Online Counseling Q&A

You’ve got questions. I’ve got answers. If I didn’t answer all of them…go ahead and schedule a call and I’ll answer them there!

  • Description text goes heTherapy (or counseling, I use both words) helps you find acceptance, ground into your values, and take aligned action to create the life you want. You don’t deserve the pain that’s brought you to therapy. And it’s possible to heal. For those defenses to become really relaxed. Discover the things you used to cope with that hard relationship. You can become mindful of any triggers you picked up along the way. You don’t want to inflict any of that trauma onto the people you care about. In the process of online therapy you learn to have a peaceful, loving relationship. With yourself, the people you love, and a future partner.

  • Online counseling / virtual therapy / telehealth…all the same thing. I say online counseling because in the South people are more open to the idea of ‘counseling’ than ‘therapy.’ And I’m all about meeting people where they are at.

In 2019, I turned down a telehealth option. Who wants to come to therapy online? That’s so weird.

Now we do basically everything online. Evidence shows that online therapy is just as effective as in person therapy. And my clients are busy bees. They’re going from their shift at the hospital to working on their side hustle. Trying to meet a friend before they go on a date. Eating lunch during their zoom meeting while sending an email.

So it just kinda makes sense, doesn’t it? Getting all of the life changing growth of therapy fit into a tidy 50 minute slot wherever you can get it. Sign me up!

  • Before they came to see me, my clients wondered if they’re really hurting enough to be in therapy. That starting therapy would mean they weren’t as capable as they thought. But they’re running on empty and at their core, they’re suffering for it. Therapy isn’t for everyone. But if you’re ready to dive deep. If you’re ready to be the daughter, friend, and boss you love. If you’re ready to find a healthy, juicy, lasting love. Then therapy is for you my friend.

  • You don’t need a commute to get the life you want.

You just need a solid wifi connection. And I recommend headphones. I make sure my end of the call is completely isolated from anyone. Total privacy. I think headphones are the easiest way for you to insure that for yourself.

I also love it when clients have their iced coffee on hand. A favorite pillow or blanket to snuggle. Light a beautiful candle. Anything that helps them feel safe and homey. You’ve set aside an hour to invest in yourself. Invest all the way!

Bottom Line

My WFH clients love online therapy. It’s a chance to unplug from their corporate life, curl up in their favorite blanket, and cuss up a storm. My in office clients enjoy having a pocket in their day to just be themselves. Not responsible for anyone else’s needs. Don’t have to ‘be together.’ Close the office door, take a deep breath, and be real.
